RNDr. Jiří Slovák
A graduate of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the Masaryk University in Brno, he graduated in basic and economic geology.
Following graduation, he worked as a mining geologist at the Olší uranium mine, today owned by the DIAMO state enterprise, serving as Deputy Managing Director for Ecological Issues between 1993 and 1997. From 1997 to 2002 he worked at ÚJV Řež, a. s. as Director of the Fuel Cycle Chemistry Division. From 2002 to 2006 he worked at AQUATEST a. s. as Director for Research and Development and later as the company’s Commercial Director. In 2007, he worked as an assistant professor at the Centre for Experimental Geotechnics of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University, Prague.
He joined SÚRAO in 2008 working in the position of Deputy Managing Director for Development, responsible for the deep geological repository development programme and the coordination of research and development in the field of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.
RNDr. Jiří Slovák has served as the Managing Director of SÚRAO since 2014.
