2. Reason for and manner of establishing the organisation
The Radioactive Waste Repository Authority (RAWRA) was established by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on 1 June 1997 according to the Atomic Act (Act 18/1997, on peaceful uses of nuclear energy and ionising radiation, Article 26). RAWRA has been a fully state-controlled organisation since 2000 in compliance with Act 219/2000, Article 51.

Requests or complaints can be submitted verbally at RAWRA information centres during opening hours, in writing to: Dlážděná 6, 110 00 Praha 1, by telephone on +420 221 421 539 (510), by fax on +420 221 421 534, by email (info@surao.cz) or via the Authority’s data box: ID 6qsigjs.
11. Remedies
In the event of a request for information being refused, an appeal against the decision can be submitted within 15 days of the delivery of the decision to the requesting party or within 15 days of the expiry of the time limit for the handling of the request regarding which no action has been taken. The appeal should be submitted to RAWRA’s Head Office, Dlážděná 6, 110 00 Praha 1. The appeal authority is the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
